My Story

I was one of those lucky kids that grew up in a home filled with a love for music and art! My first creative guide was my father who is still to this day my greatest cheerleader. As a child he measured the quality of my work with a soul-o-meter. Growing up in London with a Dad who loved art, from a very young age I was exposed to a LOT of art! Once I hit my teens I would gallery hop most weekends in London. From my early adult years I expanded my art experiences by travelling the world.

Having painted a colourful picture of where my journey started it would be unfair to say it was all bright colours. From a young age my home life was emotionally turbulent and my sensitive nature was tested. At 11 years of age I began working with a psychotherapist and started what has become a life long journey of healing through working with awareness and consciousness.

For me, Art has always been rooted in healing, self exploration and connecting with what lies beyond in the realms of the dark. It has brought me clarity, deepened my understanding of life and most of all it has given me peace.

Shortly after graduating from the University of Reading (BA Hons Fine Art)  in 2002 I moved to Paris. I lived and worked at an artist community 'En-Cours' where my first truly authentic steps as the artist I wanted to be began. I began my journey of floor based work using oil paint and sand on canvas. My brushes got overshadowed by a more intimate connection with my process; applying the mix onto the canvas with my hands. During this truly liberating time my art process became the  visionary, intuitive, experimental and meditative experience that it is to date.

A short but profound Shambhala Art Training Course in France (2014) had a lasting impact on my process and affirmed my natural tendency to work intuitively from a mental platform of space. After landing back in London I juggled working as a trained art teacher whilst being a practicing and exhibiting artist in London.  Via travels through India and a year in France (this time with my husband in tow) we decided to move to beautiful Cape Town.  I hit the ground painting in Cape Town and proceeded to explode creatively in this new land!
